Yes. Creating a site on Calipsa will generate a configuration email, which you need to input into your camera/NVR/DVR receiver settings. All the cameras will be automatically added when the first alarm is triggered on each camera. You may also add each camera individually.
Camera type: single lens and PTZ cameras.
Objects of interest: must cover >5% of the screen height.
Angle: an angle of 30°, and no more than 45°, down from the horizontal.
Distance: length = no more than 100 meters (330 ft) / width = 55 meters (180 ft).
Mounting: around 2.5 meters (8 ft) or higher off the ground.
Yes. Calipsa saves a screenshot from the first alarm it receives on each camera.
Once the snapshot has been saved, you can draw masks to outline areas of disinterest. The Calipsa algorithm will ignore all motion in the red-masked areas.
Images per alarm: min. of 3 unique images per alarm.
Resolution: min. 640 x 480.
Lux level: min. 3.
Calipsa takes 1 – 5 seconds to process an alarm. The average processing time is 0.8 — 1.2 seconds. However, for some brands like Dahua and Hikvision PTZs, the processing time may be closer to 5 seconds, depending on the site’s network speed. This is because Calipsa needs to go back to the device to extract the images.
You can review all alarms from the past 30 days in the ‘Report’ section on the Calipsa portal.
A ‘true’ alarm is when Calipsa detects a moving person or vehicle. A ‘false’ alarm is when Calipsa does not detect any human or vehicle motion, including animal movement, lighting changes, shadows, foliage in the wind, etc.
